April 1, 1995
Logan Alexander Paul was born April 1, 1995, and when he was 10 years old, he began creating videos for his YouTube channel called Zoosh, along with his younger brother, Jake Paul. In 2014, he dropped out of college to dedicate himself to a social media career; by this time, he had over three million followers across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, with much of his success based on the now-defunct Vine platform.
In 2015, Paul started his acting career as the lead villain in a “Law & Order: SVU” episode. In 2016, he debuted in a YouTube Red movie, playing the lead role in “The Thinning,” a dystopian sci-fi thriller, followed by the launch of his music career, with the aptly-titled track ‘2016.’ In 2017, Paul won two awards at the Teen Choice Awards: Male Web Star and Comedy Web Star. November 2017 saw the 22-year-old release his single ‘No Handlebars.’ The track and accompanying music video soon became notorious, drawing criticism for its overt objectification of women. This was just the start of the controversies that would follow Paul. A month later, on New Year’s Eve 2017, he published a video on his YouTube channel which explored Japan’s ‘suicide forest’ and discovered a recent suicide victim. Commentators lambasted him for his insensitivity, and Paul removed the video from his channel the next day.
Not deterred by controversy, February 2018 saw Paul kick off his boxing career with an amateur match against YouTuber KSI, which ended in a draw. Paul added to his content creation with a podcast called “Impaulsive,” winning the Streamy Award for Best Podcast. In December 2020, Paul announced an exhibition match against world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. Unsurprising, Mayweather secured a victory. Paul no longer posts on YouTube but continues to create content through his “Impaulsive” podcast.
