Lillee Jean

Background

Lillee Jean was born in New York City, in the U.S.. Jean’s life was marked by two big turning periods as she grew up. Pre-diabetic since elementary school, she concluded that a change in her diet, to get healthy, was necessary after hearing the hard facts about the condition from her doctor. Diabetes runs in her family, therefore she felt that a change in her diet was necessary. She also had to deal with bullying at school from other pupils who mocked her about her weight. She made a film on bullying and discussed her pre-diabetic condition for a piece on “Underdogs Collective.”

Jean, an artistic youngster, started making stop-motion blogs for her American Girl dolls when she was a teenager, demonstrating an early love of the arts. As she grew older, Jean became interested in the artwork created by other artists using various methods, textures, and colors, and she began watching YouTube beauty lessons. In 2011, she published her first Beautylish tutorial. In 2012 she started her YouTube channel, “themakeupBloggerllil,” where she self-published her makeup tutorials and contributed looks to the Beautylish community forums. She started a new YouTube channel, “Lillee Jean,” in 2015, where she shares cosmetic tips, reviews, and Q&As.

Jean became a successful entrepreneur who amassed a big social media following, with over one million Instagram followers and over 21,000 YouTube subscribers. In 2020, she launched “Lillee Jean Talks LIVE,” a web series that she hosts, writes, directs, and produces. She brought many award-winning Hollywood performers and inventors such as McKenzie Westmore, Claudy Beats, and Christy Curtis Buss. In 2021, Jean worked with a K-Beauty brand, and interviewed the co-founder, on her web series to showcase the product line’s versatility.
