Jack Nicholson is one of Hollywood’s most well-known performers of his generation. He was born in Neptune, New Jersey, on April 22, 1937. His zodiac sign is Taurus, and he claims to be of Irish descent. He mistook his parents, John and Ethel May Nicholson, for his biological parents. June Nicholson was an aspiring actress, whom he assumed was his older sister. Nicholson was 26 years old when she died of cancer in 1963. A “TIME” magazine reporter preparing a cover story on Nicholson discovered some shocking information in 1974, more than a decade after her death.

June was in fact Nicholson’s mother, and John and Ethel were his maternal grandparents. June’s parents agreed to treat Nicholson as their child and never reveal his true parentage to him because she was 17 years old at the time of his birth, unmarried, and unsure of the father’s identity. Nicholson made his film debut in the 1958 crime thriller “Cry Baby Killer.” Throughout the 1960s, he continued to feature in primarily low-budget horror films. In the iconic road movie “Easy Rider,” he played an alcoholic Southern lawyer named George Hanson (1969). For his portrayal, he was nominated for an Academy Award for ‘Best Supporting Actor,’ and he established a cult following. During the 1980s, Nicholson shifted away from the nuanced, understated roles that had earned him such recognition in favor of more outrageous comedic roles. Despite this, he delivered several outstanding performances throughout the decade.

His wide variety of characters has also made him one of his generation’s most enigmatic actors, with audiences unable to determine which of the many divergent personalities they’ve seen him embrace is the closest to the actual Nicholson. Nicholson announced his retirement from acting in 2013 at the age of 76. According to “Radar online,” the legendary actor “has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines required of him.” Nicholson has yet to make an official statement on the situation. His most recent role was in the 2010 romantic comedy “How Do You Know.”

In 1962, Nicholson married actress Sandra Knight. The couple had a daughter, Jennifer, before divorcing in 1968. Later, he had a 20-year relationship with actress Anjelica Huston, which ended when Nicholson had an affair with Rebecca Broussard, a stunning model. Although Nicholson and Broussard never married, they have two children together.
