Camila Cabello

Background

Camila Cabello was born in Havana, Cuba. Her father Alejandro Cabello is Mexican, and her mother Sinuhe Estrabao is Cuban. Cabello’s zodiac sign is Pisces. Her music career started when she appeared on “The X Factor” in 2012. She was eliminated from the competition. However, she was invited back to the competition to team up with other contestants to form a band. The name of their crew was Fifth Harmony. The band didn’t win the competition, and they came third. However, they released their first E.P., “Better Together,” after the competition in 2013. They followed it up with “Juntos,” another E.P. in the same year. While in the band, Cabello began to do her own thing. For example, she collaborated with Machine Gun Kelly on the song ‘Bad Things’ in 2016. Later in the year, Cabello left the band.

After leaving Fifth Harmony, Cabello changed her music to a more Latin-influenced sound. In 2018, she dropped her first solo album, “Camila.” It was a success. One of the tracks on the album, ‘Havana,’ was certified diamond in the U.S. ‘Havana’ featured American rapper Young Thug, and according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (I.F.P.I.), it was the best-selling digital single of 2018. Cabello is the first Hispanic woman to achieve a diamond-certified single.

In 2019, Cabello and Shawn Mendes released their duet ‘Señorita.’ The song was the third best-selling single of 2019. Cabello also released her second studio album “Romance” in 2019. Cabello is an immigrant to the U.S. but she has built an outstanding music career for herself, and she has not allowed anything to get in her way.
