Disarmament Week

Disarmament Week is celebrated from October 24 to 30 each year and brings to the forefront an important agenda of the United Nation to bring about world peace. At its core, the principle of disarmament suggests getting rid of all weapons and arms which contribute to warfare and mass destruction. The idea is for the international community to get rid of all arms, which are unnecessary for policing their own countries, in the interest of global security and becoming a reality. Imagine a world where countries don’t spend millions stockpiling their armories and instead utilize those funds and resources towards their own economic development and progress. In the words of the immortal John Lennon, “Imagine all the people, livin’ life in peace.” You may say we’re all dreamers, but with Disarmament Week, perhaps we’re that much closer to the goal.

World Tripe Day

World Tripe Day is on October 24, and we’re going to help you to celebrate this day in the best way possible. Tripe is the lining of the stomach of animals like cattle, sheep, or pigs. What was once something that was eaten only by the lower class is now a sought-after delicacy enjoyed by everyone all over the world. World Tripe Day was created by the Tripe Marketing Board which is a whimsical initiative taken by a publication house in the U.K. to encourage people to eat Tripe. People celebrate this day by making delicious tripe recipes and enjoying them with their loved ones.

World Humanitarian Action Day

World Humanitarian Action Day is observed every year on October 19. The day is reserved to show special appreciation and respect to the martyrs of the humanitarian causes. The observation calls for a mass global display of public support for humanitarian action. When the governing bodies fail, the non-profits and humanitarian organizations step up. But serving humanity by being on the frontlines has severe consequences that can often turn fatal. World Humanitarian Action Day honors the ones who died while saving others. People from around the world are encouraged to join humanitarian organizations such as UNICEF, Red Cross, and others, and become active messengers of humanity.
