National Onion Day

Today, farmers in the United States are collecting millions of onions. They will be heading for store shelves to provide families with the fresh, nutritional, tasty power to improve meals and boost the body’s immunity. Onions have numerous advantages, such as enhancing meals with a variety of flavors. According to recent research, consuming onions also helps the body fight colorectal cancer and breast cancer, as well as heart disease and diabetes.

National Onion Day commemorates the incorporation of the National Onion Association in 1913. The organization was created to protect the interests of America’s onion growers, and onions remain their business to this day. Today, the group represents over 500 onion producers, shippers, packers, and suppliers across the country.

Log Cabin Day

Log Cabin Day is celebrated annually on the last Sunday of June and takes place on June 28 this year. A log cabin is a small log building with a few rooms and no electricity. It was home to Americans in a time of little sophistication and technology. Today, the mention of a cabin house prompts an image of a nice, quiet vacation away from the world of cars, traffic, and computers. Log cabins have a long history in America and today, we celebrate them.

Mozambique Independence Day

Mozambique Independence Day is celebrated on June 25 every year. Also known as the ‘Dia da Independência Nacional,’ this federal holiday is a time for every Mozambican citizen to reflect and rejoice in their nation’s independence. Nestled in the south-eastern region of Africa along the Indian Ocean coastline, Mozambique is famous for its beaches and warm climate, which makes it a top-notch tourist attraction. But beyond its allure and the sunkissed landscape is a rich history not many people know about. From its European colonialism to its revolution against Portugal, Mozambique is a country that has fought hard for order, peace, and independence. It’s time to honor the country’s culture and identity.
