End of the World Day on May 21, commemorates the day when the apocalypse was to happen in 2011. An American radio host and then President of the Family Radio Christian network, Harold Camping, warned the world of the approaching apocalypse, as per the Bible. He claimed that the rapture and the Judgment Day would occur on May 21, 2011, the day Christians would ascend to Heaven. He also declared that the end of the world would take place five months after that, on October 21. Camping said May 21 would be the date of the rapture “beyond the shadow of a doubt” and the event was to unfold at 6 p.m. local time.
Plant a Lemon Tree Day

Plant a Lemon Tree Day takes place every third Saturday in May. This year, it will be celebrated on May 17. The day encourages people to plant lemon trees in their gardens and spread awareness about this immensely beneficial fruit. Lemon trees are not only renowned for their tangy citrus fruits; they can also serve as a social link for members of a locality or community. Since the trees can produce far more fruit than any one family can consume, a thriving lemon tree in a public location allows everyone to stop by and pick a lemon as they desire. Moreover, its shade is a fantastic place for locals to gather and bond with one another.
Day of Vesak

The Day of Vesak occurs annually on the day of the full moon in May. This year, it takes place on May 12. It is celebrated as the day that Buddha was born, the day he was enlightened, and the day that he passed away. The exact date of the Day of Vesak is based on Asian lunisolar calendars and is primarily celebrated in Vaisakha, a month of both the Buddhist and Hindu calendars. Buddhism is one of the oldest religions in the world, and millions of people around the world follow the teachings of Buddha.
On Vesak, followers assemble in their temples before dawn for the ceremonial hoisting of the Buddhist flag. Followers will also sing hymns in praise of the holy triple gem: the Buddha, the Dharma (his teachings), and the Sangha (his disciples).
