World Healing Day

World Healing Day is celebrated annually on the last Saturday of April, which is on April 25 this year. It is a day to involve ourselves in activities that promote the health of our body and mind; it is a day to love ourselves and take care of the health of others around us. World Healing Day began as Tai Chi Day, and later other holistic healing groups joined the day. This is a perfect day to learn and understand various forms of healing techniques. The activities for the day begin at 10 A.M. The activities are coordinated by “WorldHealingDay.org.”

Koningsdag

Koningsdag, formerly known as Koninginnedag, is celebrated on April 27 every year. Since the late 1880s, the festival has been observed in honor of succeeding female queens. Following the coronation of Willem-Alexander in 2013, the first Dutch king since 1890, and the queen’s abdication in 2013, 2014 was the first year to commemorate the iconic national festival of Koningsdag. Koningsdag commemorates King Willem-Alexander’s birthday. To honor the royal family, the House of Orange-Nassau, everything is painted orange on this day.

UN English Language Day

The U.N. English Language Day, celebrated on April 23, is part of the initiative of the United Nations’ celebration of its six official languages. Along with English, there is Arabic Language Day, Chinese Language Day, French Language Day, Russian Language Day, and Spanish Language Day. April 23 was chosen for English Language Day as it is the birthday and death date of William Shakespeare. The day aims to promote multilingualism and create awareness about the culture, history, and accomplishments of the language.
