Strictly speaking, we will be celebrating our first First Contact Day on April 5, 2063. Every die-hard Trekkie knows that on this day, the Vulcans and humans will make contact for the first time! Nonetheless, fans have been celebrating First Contact Day since 1996 — when the idea was introduced in the film, “Star Trek: First Contact.” The best way to celebrate this day is by enjoying all things “Star Trek” and reliving our favorite movies and episodes with Trekkies!
Easter Monday

Easter Monday, falling on April 6 this year, is the Christian (public) holiday after Easter Sunday, which is the day when Jesus Christ emerged from the tomb after his crucifixion. Also known as Bright Monday, Renewal Monday, Wet Monday, and the Dyngus Day, there are different and interesting traditions surrounding the Monday that comes immediately after Easter Day. Although the Bible does not instruct the observance of this holiday, many Christian groups — primarily Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox, celebrate this day as a legal holiday and part of their cultural tradition.
National Flash Drive Day

Here at National Today, we are gearing up to celebrate National Flash Drive Day on April 5. The small object deserves a commemorative day of its own given how easy it has made it to store and transfer data. The flash drive’s features also keep getting better day by day. For example, did you know that the first flash drive had only 8 MB data capacity? Today, the tiny gadget, usually weighing less than an ounce, can hold more than 2 TB. As if the change in storage capacity wasn’t good enough, now you can also get cool (and rather cute!) looking flash drives in the shapes of hamburgers, noodles, animals, and even — wait for it — Harry Styles.
