National Day of Solidarity with Muslim Arab and South Asian Immigrants

In an exhibition of humanity, Americans observe the National Day of Solidarity with Muslim, Arab, and South Asian Immigrants every February 20. The day is characterized by a show of support to the affected groups and the organizing of special events to rebuke unjust treatments meted out on them in the U.S., following the infamous September 11 attacks. Many Americans have long spoken against the trampling of Muslim and Arab immigrants’ rights when the government began incarcerating the latter. This day further strengthens the support shown to the affected minority groups.

Sovereignty Day of Serbia

Sovereignty Day of Serbia is observed on February 15 every year. Also referred to as Statehood Day, it is a two-day long celebration considered National Day in Serbia. Sovereignty Day of Serbia marks the first Serbian Uprising in 1804, alongside the first Serbian Constitution in 1835. If the day falls on a weekend, a weekday is usually given in its stead, and the holiday was observed for the very first time in 2001. On this day, citizens believe that the weather may indicate the harshness of the final days of winter.

World Pulses Day

World Pulses Day takes place on February 10 each year. It is a yearly global event designated by the United Nations in 2018 to recognize the significance and nutritional benefits of pulses (also known as “legumes”). Beyond that, the U.N. believes that pulses are not only nutritional, they can also contribute to the development of sustainable food systems towards eradicating world hunger and poverty. According to the U.N., this is an effective strategy for achieving its 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which aims at strengthening global peace and enhancing food security.
