National Love A Tree Day is celebrated every year on May 16 and it falls right in the middle of Garden for Wildlife Month. Did you know trees actually didn’t exist for the first 90% of Earth’s history? Shocking, isn’t it? Before trees, our Earth had fungi that grew 26 feet tall and resembled trees. Trees have played an irreplaceable role in the smooth functioning of our environment and celebrating this special day dedicated to them is the least we can do to appreciate them.
Holy Spirit Monday

This year, Holy Spirit Monday will be celebrated on June 9. Holy Spirit Monday celebrates the emergence of the Holy Spirit in the form of flames. The holiday is celebrated 50 days after the commemoration of Orthodox Easter. Devout Christians observe this day as the birth of the church. Holy Spirit Monday is celebrated with family and friends. Some countries celebrate the day as a public holiday while others do not.
Lost Sock Memorial Day

Lost Sock Memorial Day, celebrated annually on May 9, honors all the socks that are no longer with us. Where did they go? We are not certain but what we do know is that losing one sock of a perfectly-matched pair is a wide-spread phenomenon. So much so that we have a day on which to honor those socks we have loved and lost.
