International Essential Oils Day

International Essential Oils Day is celebrated on July 11 every year. For 25 years, at least, people have increased their usage of essential oils. People use it by topical application on the skin or through other methods. The variety of strains and extraction from various plants result in different levels of purity and color as well. This aromatic day recognizes the benefits of essential oils for humanity. Essential oils cannot be patented either.

Indivisible Day

Indivisible Day

For many Americans, July 4 is a day of patriotic celebration of the country’s independence, but at the same time, for many others, it is also Indivisible Day. The day calls for awareness and promotion of the idea of separating the state from religion. Former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura believed that the phrase ‘under God’ in the Pledge of Allegiance goes against the Establishment Clause of America’s Constitution in educational settings, namely schools. Such statements from Ventura were not taken lightly, especially after his explosive interview with “Playboy” in which he was quoted saying that “religion is a sham and crutch for weak-minded people.” While many opposed Ventura’s stance, many others still lauded his viewpoint stating that he was merely talking about people’s unity as a nation.

Smart Irrigation Month

Smart Irrigation Month is celebrated in July as an ode to the technology that has helped in saving water worldwide. Smart irrigation is a system that controls and schedules irrigation times after monitoring the weather and soil conditions. Why is such a system important? Because less than 1% of all the water on Earth can be used by people. Unfortunately, due to the increase in populations globally, the amount of water available is drying out quicker than expected. Hence, it is important to save water and turn to machinery and technology in devising strategies to save water.
