By February 2016, his first studio album, “Press It,” was released. In the same year, Taemin made his Japanese debut with the E.P. “Sayonara Hitori” and went on the dance program “Hit the Stage.” He went on his first solo concert in July 2017 in Tokyo before starring in the Japanese drama “Final Life: Even If You Disappear Tomorrow.” Taemin sang the soundtrack for the film.

In 2018, the South-Korean singer went on his first Japanese concert tour and sold out in 16 cities. In the same year, he released his first Japanese album and overall third studio album, “Taemin.” He released several more records before enlisting in the military in May 2021. However, by January 2022, Taemin transitioned to a military service public service worker due to his heightened cases of depression and panic.
