Rósa Arianna McGowan, nicknamed Rose, was born on September 5, 1973, in Florence, Italy to writer Terri McGowan and artist Daniel McGowan. Until 1978, Terri ran a chapter of the Children of God. McGowan spent much of her childhood at the commune and frequently visited other countries in Europe with her family. Her father’s career as an artist helped McGowan become a child model, and she appeared in “Vogue Bambini” and other Italian magazines.
The family relocated to the U.S. and settled in Eugene, Oregon, when McGowan was ten. Following the separation of her parents, she lived with her father in Seattle and attended Nova Alternative High School. During this time, she also worked at the local McDonald’s. She is a trained dancer and took ballet lessons till she was 13. However, when she was 15, she emancipated herself from her parents and relocated to Los Angeles.
Her role as Paige Matthews in the T.V. drama, “Charmed,” which aired from 2001 to 2006, made her a well-known name in the television industry.
