Preston Blaine Arsement was born in Texas, where he grew up with a passion for paintball and the dream to become a pro-grade paintball player, but ended up in a different career. Arsement started working on his empire at 16 when he graduated high school in 2010 and started his career-opening YouTube channel — TBNRFrags.

Not long after the launch, Arsement caught the attention of the multimedia business Machinima, who offered him to join their team Respawn Crew in 2011. Arsement launched his second YouTube channel, PrestonPlayz, on July 4, 2012, but he uploaded his first video on January 15, 2013.
