Erin Napier is one of the most prominent names in the home renovation reality show industry. She has a fine arts degree and she started her career in corporate graphic design, before turning to the home renovation business with her husband. They renovated houses in the historic town of Laurel, Mississippi, and were featured both in the “Southern Weddings” magazine and on its Instagram page. Soon, HGTV contacted them.
Napier soon rose to fame in 2016, when she began hosting HGTV’s reality show, “Home Town,” along with her husband Ben, doing what they had been doing all along. The show became highly rated in its first three seasons, eventually leading to two spinoff shows: “Home Town: Ben’s Workshop,” and “Home Town: Takeover,” both of which premiered on Discovery+ in early 2021.
The couple also later established two more businesses, a revamped “Laurel Mercantile Co.,” where they make and design heirlooms and long-lasting goods. Their other company, “Scotsman Co.,” is where her husband, Ben Napier builds furnishings and wood products. The home restoration shown in their reality show features products from all three companies, along with Napier’s design expertise and her husband’s woodworking.
Napier met her husband in 2004 when she was a design student and he was studying history. They began dating within six days of meeting each other. They were married in 2008 and have two daughters. She has written two books so far: “Make Something Good Today,” which came out in 2018 is a memoir co-authored by the couple and speaks of Napier and her husband’s life and the advice to seek good things. Erin Napier’s second book, “The Lantern House,” is a children’s storybook published in 2022.
Napier’s company “Lucky Luxe,” makes wedding stationery, and is successful enough for her to leave her desk job and focus on it.
