Adam Richard Sandler is a name that’s spoken with Hollywood reverence. His talents, personality, and down-to-earth nature have won him a loyal army of fans worldwide. Sandler was born on September 9, 1966. His birthplace is Brooklyn, New York, and he is of Russian-Jewish descent. Sandler’s mother was a nursery school teacher, while his father was an electrical engineer. He grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, and was a student at Manchester Central High School. After high school, he enrolled at Tisch School of the Arts in New York and graduated in 1988.

Sandler featured in many television shows in his early career. This includes playing the role of Smitty from “The Cosby Show.” He made his film debut in 1989 in “Going Overboard.” At 17, he was discovered by Dennis Miller, who caught his comedic performances in clubs and recommended him to “Saturday Night Live” producer Lorne Michaels. Michaels hired Sandler as a “Saturday Night Live” writer in 1990. In 1991, he became a featured player on the “Saturday Night Live” show. From there, Sandler started gaining recognition. He appeared in “Coneheads” (1993), “Airheads” (1994), “Billy Madison” (1995), “Bulletproof” (1996), and several other movies before forming his film production company, Happy Madison Productions in 1999. His performance in “Punch-Drunk Love” (2002) earned him a Golden Globe nomination. Sandler made and starred in more films before “Grown Ups” (2010) and “Grown Ups 2” (2013), where he worked with Cameron Boyce, amongst others.

In 2015, Netflix announced a four-movie deal with Sandler. The contract got renewed in January 2020, and Sandler has starred in six films for Netflix, including “The Do-Over” (2016) and “Hubie Halloween” (2020). His latest film, “Hustle,” is to be released in June 2022. Sandler’s filmography is enviable, and so are his accrued talents, myriad awards, fame, and wealth. He shares his life with his beautiful family of four. Sandler married Jacqueline Titone in 2003, and the couple has two daughters.
