National Kool Aid Day is celebrated on the second weekend in August in Hastings, Nebraska. It coincides with the first day of Kool-Aid Days, a festival held from Friday, August 19 to Sunday, August 21. This year, the day falls on August 15. The theme this year is Mangonificent. There are many fun activities on the go during the festival including a Kool-Aid drinking contest, a parade, a Fun Run, and boat races. So, if you live in or around Nebraska, you can participate in the events. But, if you don’t, there are things to do at home such as celebrate with your favorite packet of Kool-Aid.
Pinot Noir Day

Pinot Noir Day on August 18 is a fan favorite among wine connoisseurs. Pinot Noir is one of the most versatile and enjoyed derivatives of wine in the world. Originally grown in France, today, we can enjoy Pinot Noir grown and made from every corner of the globe. Its rich history is complemented by its rich flavors, making this a day all can enjoy.
National Massachusetts Day

National Massachusetts Day is on August 17, and it recognizes the second of 13 original New England colonies and the sixth state to join the Union. The state derives its name from the indigenous people who populated the area when the explorers (and later, the pilgrims) first arrived. Massachusetts is a particularly special state in the American history books because it’s where the Mayflower landed and the fight for independence from Great Britain was most hard-fought in the years following its addition to the Union. Today, we celebrate the expansion of the Union with the inclusion of Massachusetts.
