Aged Care Employee Day

Aged Care Employee Day takes place on August 7 of every year and celebrates the workers who provide care to the elderly. It takes an extraordinary amount of skill, patience, and heart to care for the aged individuals living through their twilight years. Thus, the day serves as an appreciation for the nurses, care workers, drivers, chefs, cleaners, and/or volunteers who are always on call to ensure that our seniors receive the company and the assistance that they need.

National Cooler Day

National Cooler Day, celebrated on the Friday before Memorial Day, is all about appreciating the life-saving invention, which is the cooler. This year, it takes place on May 22. Can you imagine that as simple as the cooler is, it wasn’t mainstream until the 1950s? A cooler is an insulated box that keeps food or drinks cool. Ice cubes or ice packs are usually used in the cooler to help the contents inside stay cool. Coolers are commonly used during the summer season for storage or transporting perishable products. They are also taken on picnics, vacations, or outdoor activities. Depending on the occasion, coolers are of different sizes, including personal coolers, disposable coolers, reusable coolers, and large coolers with wheels.

Drowsy Driver Awareness Day

Drowsy Driver Awareness Day is observed on April 6 to shed light on the disastrous effects of drowsy driving. The study shows that there is a steep cognitive decline after 18 hours of staying up, which is almost tantamount to having alcohol in our systems. The day raises support to end the senseless loss of life through concrete measures such as educational seminars and public health appeals. Brought into existence by a grieving husband who lost his beloved wife to drowsy driving, the day honors the victims and raises awareness regarding the often understated impact of drowsy driving.
