Randol Fawkes Labor Day is celebrated annually on the first Friday in June. This year, it falls on June 5. The day is so named because of Sir Randol Fawkes’ contribution to making the day a reality for the people of the Bahamas. As other nations had started celebrating Labor Day, there was a need for someone to advocate for it on behalf of all workers in the Bahamas. The day is marked as a public holiday and all workers in the Bahamas get to take the day off. This allows them to spend the day having fun with their families or friends.
Platinum Jubilee bank holiday

The Platinum Jubilee bank holiday is a weekend celebration from June 2 to June 5, 2022. The weekend is part of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations that are taking place throughout the United Kingdom, the Realms, and the Commonwealth. She is Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. Festivities include the Platinum Pudding competition, The Big Jubilee Lunch, and the Queen’s Birthday Parade — well known as The Trooping the Color — where over 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians will parade through the streets and a Service of Thanksgiving.
Eritrean Independence Day

Eritrean Independence Day is celebrated every year on May 24, although the festivities go on for a whole week. These include carnivals, street performances, concerts, parades, tent parties, and flag-waving. It is safe to say that the Eritreans know how to party! The country’s state-owned T.V. channel, Eri-TV, also plays documentaries during this week to remind people of the sacrifices made to free Eritrea. People of Eritrean descent around the world also showcase their patriotism by having picnics and barbeques.
