Second Second Half of the Year Day

Second Half of the Year Day is July 1st (the 182nd Day of the Year) — an opportunity to take a step back, and analyze your year thus far with your goals and objectives (forget the new year’s resolutions, which likely didn’t survive beyond February), and take action to get back on track if required. It’s an excellent time to reflect on your money, nutrition, work, and other parts of your life that you might wish to change. Make the rest of the year count!

This day can be commemorated precisely at noon in the middle of the year, indicating that 182 days and 12 hours have gone and that the year has 182 days and 12 hours left to conclude.

National Baby-Led Weaning Day

National Baby-Led Weaning Day is on July 1 and is dedicated to babies and their meals. In comparison to the conventional spoon-feeding method, Baby-led weaning trains babies to feed themselves appropriate foodstuffs right from their first bites. It advocates the work of Dr. Gill Rapley, who is the founder of this day and holds a rich experience in the areas of infant feeding and child development. She recommends parents wait until their child gets ready to consume solid meals. This method fine-tunes motor development and helps babies learn self-regulation in eating.

Rath Yatra

Rath Yatra is celebrated on the second day of the two-week-long Ashadha month of the Hindu calendar and this year, it takes place on July 16. The festival usually falls between June and July. Millions of devotees from all over India congregate in the pilgrim city of Puri, Odisha, to participate in the chariot journey of Lord Jagannath. Rath Yatra is one of the most important festivals of the Hindu religion and is believed to be in practice since time immemorial. The day starts with the Mangalaparna ritual, followed by the journey of massive wooden chariots for approx. three kilometers to reach Shree Gundicha Temple.
