World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (W.T.I.S.D.) is celebrated every year on May 17 to raise global awareness of the potential that the Internet and information and communication technology (I.C.T.) can bring to society and the economy. It’s also to help raise awareness of ways to bridge the digital divide. The Internet and I.C.T. have proven to be essential in facing the world’s challenges in the digital era. And global cooperation is required to decrease the digital divide so that all can access new technologies and connect.
Wear Purple for Peace Day

Wear Purple for Peace Day is celebrated annually on May 16. The day is not just an ordinary observance to promote peace, but it’s an extraordinary practice to entice aliens to visit Earth due to its peaceful state. Okay, first let’s just focus on promoting peace around the world. Whether the founder of this holiday is serious or not in making this event about the extraterrestrials’ visit, we human beings always long for peace, right?
HG Awareness Day

HG Awareness Day is observed annually on May 15 to increase awareness of the pregnancy complication hyperemesis gravidarum. Hyperemesis gravidarum (H.G.) is a misunderstood condition that’s often confused with morning sickness. H.G. symptoms, which are nausea and vomiting, are more severe than morning sickness that can lead to dehydration and weight loss. H.G. is potentially life-threatening, and it affects 1% of pregnancies. Besides increasing understanding of this pregnancy complication, H.G. Awareness Day aims to build a broader community for H.G. survivors.
