Holy Tuesday

Holy Tuesday is observed on the Tuesday of Holy Week every year, which is the week that precedes Easter Sunday and usually falls somewhere between the end of March and the beginning of April. This year, it takes place on March 31. This day is observed by Christians around the world as they meditate on Christ’s experiences leading up to the crucifixion and his eventual return from the dead which is celebrated on Easter. The day is also known as Fig Tuesday as it commemorates the day Jesus returned to Jerusalem from Bethany, passing a barren fig tree on the way, which he used as an example to teach his disciples.

Bell Bottoms Day

Bell Bottoms Day, which is celebrated on April 5, commemorates the fashion of the 1970s. Bell bottoms are also known as flares. These are a style of trousers and jeans that become wider from the knees to the ankles resembling the shape of a bell. Back in the day, bell bottoms were made from denim, satin polyester, or bright cotton. They were immensely popular among teenagers as they signified an outlandish fashion style.
