If you’re the type that loves watching beauty YouTubers, you probably know Tatiana Aleksandra Westbrook, better known as Tati Westbrook. Back when the platform was only five years old, she started making videos about makeup, including reviews, tutorials, and tips — and in doing so, she helped shape one of YouTube’s most popular categories of videos. Countless others found success by making a similar style of videos, but Westbrook will always be one of the first. Westbrook was born on February 14th, 1982, in Seattle, Washington. Her zodiac sign is Aquarius, and she is Latvian. She is the daughter of Jānis and Cindy Krievins, and she has three sisters named Larisa, Erika, and Sabrina, all of whom she’s very close with. She fell in love with makeup when she saw the amazing transformation it could cause on her face and later learned to be a makeup artist by teaching herself because she couldn’t afford higher education.

By the late 2000s, she was already an accomplished image consultant and makeup artist, but she saw an opportunity in YouTube’s ever-increasing popularity, and she took it. At first, she didn’t disclose her last name, only by her handle or Tati. In 2012, when her career was just starting to kick off, she became engaged to her then-boyfriend James Westbrook, who proposed to her via a video filmed with the help of other YouTubers.

Over the following years, Westbrook became famous for giving tips on how to create simple but stunning makeup looks and how to shop for good quality products on a budget. This made it possible for viewers who were just starting in the realm of makeup to locate reliable and affordable items and instructions on how to apply them without having prior experience.

In 2018, Westbrook became a businesswoman with the launch of Halo Beauty Inc., a company that produces vitamin supplements that boost the skin, hair, and nails, which have since received rave reviews. In 2019, she had a feud with fellow beauty YouTuber James Charles, who she had previously mentored, and makeup mogul Jeffree Star. Westbrook and Star made very severe accusations against Charles throughout the long-lasting feud, but they no longer bring it up.

In that same year, she founded a makeup brand called Tati Beauty. After two years, she was forced to close it because of financial struggles related to her other company, Halo Beauty, where she and her husband have been facing litigation from their former business partner. Despite all this, Westbrook has gone back to regularly uploading videos with her usual content, which she had stopped doing during the feud.
