Background

Joy-Anna Duggar rose to fame after featuring in the series “19 kids & Counting.” Here we can see the adventures of two families and how they face life, having decided not to use contraceptives due to their religious beliefs, and choosing to have all the children that come from their marriage. Yes — that’s 19 and counting. Duggar also appears in another reality show, “Counting On,” which was formerly known as “Jill and Jessa: Counting On.” The show is a spin-off of 19 “Kids and Counting.”

Duggar’s father, Jim Bob Duggar, is a real estate agent and has also ventured into politics. Michelle Duggar, their mother, is wholly devoted to her 19 children and is now, along with her children and husband, a well-known T.V. celebrity. The strange but fascinating family decided to raise all their children at home, in the Christian faith, as shown in the bible and the sciences, from which the children are taught. In this religious family, Duggar met the man who would become her husband several years later. When she was only five years old, and her future husband was eight, the two met at a religious ceremony held in Duggar’s community. Their love grew little by little, and once they reached adulthood, they married.

On the small screen, we can see Duggar grow with his siblings over the years, in the T.L.C. show that had to readjust its name depending on the siblings that were composing the family. So we had “17 Kids and Counting,” then “18 Kids and Counting,” and finally “19 Kids and Counting,” before its controversial end in 2015, seven years after it started.
