Caitlyn Marie Jenner was born in Mount Kisco, New York, on October 28, 1949, to Esther Ruth and William Hugh Jenner. After graduating from Newtown High School in 1968, she made her decathlon debut in 1970, finishing fifth in the Drake Relays decathlon in Des Moines, Iowa. Jenner graduated from Graceland College with a degree in physical education in 1973.

At the 1972 U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, Jenner finished fifth in the men’s decathlon and qualified for the Olympic team. At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, Jenner finished 10th in the decathlon and went on to win the men’s decathlon event in 1974, featuring on the cover of the August 1974 issue of “Track & Field News” magazine. Setting records, winning championships and a gold medal at the Pan American Games are testament to her exceptional athletic abilities. Jenner was honored in the United States National Track and Field Hall of Fame in 1980, the Olympic Hall of Fame in 1986, the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame and Connecticut Sports Hall of Fame in 1994, and the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.

Jenner first appeared on television in the mid-1970s, both as herself and as a character. In 1978, she co-hosted the short-lived daytime talk and variety show “America Alive!” Her film debut followed in the 1980 comedy “Can’t Stop the Music.” In 1980 and 1981, she starred in the made-for-T.V. films “The Golden Moment: An Olympic Love Story” and “Grambling’s White Tiger.” Jenner appeared in 160 episodes of the E! reality series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, alongside wife Kris Jenner, stepchildren Kourtney, Kimberley, Khloé, and Rob Kardashian, and daughters Kylie and Kendall. Jenner was the Phoenix in the fifth season of “The Masked Singer” in 2021. Jenner also starred in an Australian version of “Big Brother V.I.P.” in the same year.
