Drita D’Avanzo is an Albanian-born reality T.V. star who has graced our screens for years. Born on February 6, 1976, in Albania to her mother, Kadima, and her father, Nezir Selmani, D’Avanzo is of Albanian ethnicity. When she was a young child, D’Avanzo’s family migrated to Staten Island, where she spent a better part of her life. D’Avanzo played soccer growing up and her father, who was a coach, trained her. She attended Susan Wagner High School and was a goalie in the ’90s. However, her passion was entertainment rather than athletics. Although she has had a lot of controversies, D’Avanzo emerges unscathed and keeps her head in the game.
D’Avanzo started a career in makeup and even worked for several upscale cosmetic companies before her big break in 2011. The reality T.V. show “Mob Wives,” depicted D’Avanzo as beautiful, driven, and hot-tempered. The show aired for five years and featured D’Avanzo in its 82 episodes. In 2012, D’Avanzo appeared in one episode of the spinoff “Big Ang.” In February 2014, she took her love for cosmetics to the next level when she opened her ‘Lady Boss’ store. The store carried her makeup line, fashion items, and other collections. In August 2017, D’Avanzo announced her appearance as a cast member of “Scared Famous.” She’s on four episodes of the show.
D’Avanzo got married to Lee D’Avanzo in 2000. Her husband was part of the New Springville Boys gang, so one can say that D’Avanzo married into the mob. Although D’Avanzo and her husband got arrested in 2019 for drugs and firearm possession, her charges were dropped. Her husband, on the other hand, is currently in prison for robbing a Staten Island bank. He is due for release in July 2024. The couple has two daughters together.
