National Independent Worker Day

National Independent Worker Day takes place on August 16 to honor freelancers, independent contractors, small business owners, and others who have decided to work independently. We live in a society where traditional full-time occupations are the norm, yet the modern workplace is evolving, and there is a growing change in the nature of work.. Independent workers have been denied national recognition for far too long. The contributions of America’s independent workers should be recognized because they embody the ideas and values of our country’s declaration of independence by exemplifying what it means to be self-sufficient.
