The National Defense Transportation Day on May 21 commemorates the transportation services in the U.S. The day is a United States federal observance day, but it is not a public holiday as all businesses are open and running. Any society’s infrastructure and operations depend heavily on its transportation sectors. Not only do the appropriate transportation services save time and money for the general population, but they also provide better living standards for the entire country. The day aims to highlight the transportation sector’s workers’ dedication to their professions. There are several activities lined up during the day, from special recognition events to school contests.
National Bike to Work Day

We love our work, but we wish our work commute would disappear into a fiery pit somewhere; that’s why we love celebrating National Bike to Work Day each year on the third Friday of May, on May 15 this year. This day aims to incentivize us to switch our regular commute with bikes, and we’re very thankful for it! Another key element to this celebration is the emphasis on safety awareness for cyclists and other commuters.
National American Red Cross Founder’s Day

140 years ago, Clara Barton established the American Red Cross and it has been a tremendous source of aid since then — National American Red Cross Founder’s Day is observed in her honor and the history of the organization and is celebrated each year on May 21. We don’t know who founded this day, but we are all for commemorating this special event.
