Beer became such an important part of the culture that many Egyptian tombs have drawings that depict people drinking beer from jars. Several ancient texts hint that the Egyptians also had various types of beer such as dark beer, sweet beer, thick beer, friend’s beer, garnished beer, and beer of the protector. Breweries were built across the region, and women became an important part of the workforce.
