International Expect Success Month – February 2025

International Expect Success Month is celebrated in February and aims to emphasize the need for positivity in our daily lives as we strive towards success. Karla Brandau started this holiday to encourage people to search deep within their souls for hidden success factors, then cultivate those traits via optimistic anticipation, devotion, and sweat.

History of International Expect Success Month

Karla Brandau, President of Life Power Dynamics, a corporation dealing with personal empowerment, created Expect Success Month in 2005. This was done as a means of making a significant impact on the lives of the individuals in her programs. Brandau encourages people to search deep within their souls for hidden success factors and to cultivate such qualities via positive anticipation, devotion, and perspiration.

Researchers have discovered that sadness and pessimism are linked. In reality, depressed individuals are often pessimistic in the beginning. A fundamental aspect of battling depression is to transform the outlook on the world from pessimism to optimism.
In other words, if you can learn to ‘expect success’ every morning, you can gradually improve your productivity at work, form meaningful relationships with others, and improve the overall quality of your life.

People were widely regarded as a product of their environment before the 1960s. The power of the mind and making intentional choices for positivity were given little credit. Individual helplessness gave way to individual desire, choice, decision, and expectancy, as public opinion began to shift, thanks to the work of psychologist Albert Ellis. What others saw as a profound neurotic struggle, Ellis argued, was simply faulty thinking — stupid conduct on the part of smart people. He pushed patients to give that up and improve their mental processes.

Depression is not a sickness, according to psychiatrist Aaron T. Beck, but negative thinking is. Another researcher, William Glasser, claims in his book “Control Theory,” that individuals seek depression as a means to cope with their problems. People who learn to be optimistic and use the power of positive expectancy can become emotionally healthy and take charge of their future.

Can positivity lead to success?

There are several psychological advantages — positive people are more energetic, self-assured, and hopeful. As a result, they prefer to set greater objectives and put in more effort to achieve them. Positive people are better at getting creative answers to problems and making better decisions as a result of this.

What does life positivity mean?

Positive living, often known as an optimistic mindset, is the act of concentrating on the positive aspects of a situation. It simply implies that you approach life’s good and bad with the anticipation of things going well.

How can you develop a positive mindset?

Allow yourself to experience negative feelings, seek feedback to help you become more aware of your current mindset, recognize and practice reframing of negative thoughts and language, and choose your situations carefully to sow the seeds of your positive mindset.
