Introduction
The United States Space Force was founded on 20 December 2019. It is the newest of the six Armed Forces of the United States. It is also one of two independent space forces in the world. It traces its origins to the Air Force, Army, and Navy’s military space programs that began at the onset of the Cold War. The first participation of utilizing space forces for combat operations was during the Vietnam War, and it has participated in every major military operation since.

Space Force Birthday timeline
The modern concept of an independent Space Force separate from other Armed Forces was advanced by General Bernard Schriever. He is often referred to as the Father of US Space Force for his work in integrating space technologies into the US Air Force.
The first direct call for a U.S. Space Force occurred in 1982, prior to Air Force Space Command's establishment or the Strategic Defense Initiative's public announcement. As part of a report recommending the acceleration U.S. space-based laser weapon development, the Government Accountability Office recommended the U.S. Air Force be reorganized as the U.S. Aerospace Force or that an independent U.S. Space Force be created. Ultimately, a Congressional proposal to rename the U.S. Air Force as the U.S. Aerospace Force and speculation that President Ronald Reagan may announce the creation of a U.S. Space Force accelerated Air Force plans to create a space command within the service.
In Juney 2018, President Donald Trump ordered the Defense Department and Pentagon to develop plans and establish the Space Force.
The first 86 Space Force lieutenants were commissioned upon graduation from the United States Air Force Academy.
The United States Space Force Is established when President Donald J. Trump signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act. This created a Space Corp within the Department of the Air Force.
