Wendy Jie Huang, better known as Wengie, was born in Guangzhou, China. She created the “Wengie” YouTube channel in 2013, named after her Chinese name, Wenjie. Her films covered topics such as beauty, fashion, and “Do It Yourself” (D.I.Y.) advice. She started a second YouTube channel named “WengieVlogs” in 2013. She renamed her YouTube channel “Wendie ft. Wengie” in October 2018. After roughly a year, she changed her name to “Wengie’s Life.” On July 13, 2017, Wengie released her first song, ‘Baby Believe Me.’ On the Chinese music charts, it debuted at number 11 and peaked at number six. On November 25, 2017, she released a new song called ‘Oh I Do’ on YouTube through the channel “Wengie Music Asia.” Within a few days, the music video got over nine million views.

She released the single ‘Cake’ on July 10, 2018.
