His mother was named Audrey and she was a hairdresser and his father, Ernest Matthew Sumner, was a milkman and engineer. He is known by his stage name, Sting, and he is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and actor. From 1977, Sting was the lead singer for the new-wave rock band, The Police. Sting joined Stewart Copeland and Henry Padovani in forming The Police in 1977. Sting won a Golden Globe in 2002 for his song ‘Until…’ which was featured in the film “Kate & Leopold.” The song earned Sting his second Academy Award for Best Song. In 2016, he released the album “57th & 9th” which was his first rock album in years. In 2021, he released a compilation album called “Duets.” He released album number 15, titled “The Bridge,” in 2021.
