Local basketball, soccer teams make North Coast Section playoffs
Many local teams earn home games in postseason tournaments

The North Coast Section announced its brackets for boys and girls basketball along with boys and girls soccer on Sunday afternoon, and many local teams not only made the cut, but were awarded home games. The Vallejo boys soccer team, Benicia boys soccer team, and several local basketball teams are set to compete in the playoffs.

The Vallejo boys soccer team, the No. 12 seed in Division IV, will host 5th-seeded Santa Rosa on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Benicia boys soccer team, the No. 9 seed, will play at Marin on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. In boys basketball, St. Patrick-St. Vincent is the No. 12 seed in Division III and will visit Brave Christian, while Benicia, Jesse Bethel, and American Canyon will compete in the Division IV bracket. On the girls side, Vallejo is the No. 12 seed in Division IV and will host Northgate, while St. Patrick-St. Vincent is the No. 8 seed in Division IV and will host Vintage. Benicia is the No. 2 seed in Division III and will play at Berkeley, while Jesse Bethel is the No. 7 seed in Division III and will host Del Norte. American Canyon girls will compete in Division II as the No. 8 seed, hosting Pittsburg.

The St. Patrick-St. Vincent boys basketball team is the No. 12 seed in Division III after winning a section title last year.

The Benicia boys basketball team is the No. 3 seed in Division IV and finished the regular season with a 12-15 overall record.
American Canyon Wolves
The American Canyon girls basketball team is the No. 8 seed in Division II and finished the regular season with a 21-8 overall record.
