Save a Spider Day

Save a Spider Day is celebrated on March 14 annually in the U.S. in part to reduce arachnophobia, a fear of spiders, and to conserve spiders. People are usually afraid of spiders, mostly due to their bites which are considered deadly. Although most of the fear is largely unfounded and exaggerated, spiders are incredibly useful to humans as they work as effective pest control among other things. On this day, we look at the many reasons why we should rather trap a spider in a jar and take it outside than kill it. Let us spin webs about spiders and why they should be saved.

United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace

The United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace is observed on March 8 — the same day as International Women’s Day! It is common knowledge that women face many challenges, from gender discrimination to gender-based violence, to name a few. The United Nations operates on the fundamental principle of equal human rights for men and women. The United Nations Charter concluded that for meaningful development and lasting peace to be achieved, discrimination against women must be curbed. The United Nations calls for public dialogue and open debate about these issues every year.

HPV Awareness Day

International HPV Awareness Day is observed annually on March 4. It was established to help spread awareness about H.P.V. and educate people about vaccinations and other preventative measures. It allows people to better understand the dangers, signs, and symptoms of H.P.V. The virus is known to be the major cause of cervical cancer. This virus has been known to also cause some types of skin and mucosal cancers.
