National Whistleblower Reward Day is celebrated on February 20 every year. It is a day that has been set aside to create awareness against fraud and encourage people to report fraud against the government. Do you know that fraud costs the government billions of dollars every year? Yes, fraud costs the government 10% of all expenditures or a staggering $350 billion annually. In order to tackle this vice, the government has turned to whistleblowers for assistance. So, what precisely is National Whistleblower Reward Day, and how does the system of rewards operate? Here’s how everything comes together.
Janan Luwum Day

Janan Luwum Day is observed every February 16 in Uganda. The day recognizes the pivotal contributions of Janani Luwum, former Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Uganda. It is widely known that he was murdered on the orders of Uganda’s former President Idi Amin because he was very vocal in his criticism of Amin’s dictatorship and excesses in leadership. Despite being gone for over 40 decades, Archbishop Janani’s legacy lives on and he is today regarded as “one of the most influential leaders of the modern church in Africa.”
National Black Girl Magic Day

National Black Girl Magic Day is observed on February 15 annually in the United States. The day celebrates the beauty, power, and resilience of Black women. The day also raises awareness of the issues faced by Black women, especially those that are discriminatory or racist. Activists look at corporate, medical, cultural, and social aspects of America and how they affect Black women. National Black Girl Magic Day hopes to bring change by example and create a future where every Black girl and woman gets equal representation to their White counterparts. Happy National Black Girl Magic Day to everyone!
