National Archer Day

National Archer Day is celebrated annually on March 16. This day honors a name that holds an unusual and somewhat intriguing meaning associated with a real male, chivalric interest. It has sprouts of English origin. Each name is respectable and deserving of consideration. Appellations were highly prized and carefully selected in ancient times because they not only determined a child’s destiny but also the attitudes of his peers. Each of them includes beauty, whether in the form of something grand, forceful, delicate, or musical. Therefore, we show our thanks for the name Arc on National Archer Day.

Black Press Day

Black Press Day is observed on March 16 every year. It commemorates when the first Black newspaper, “Freedom’s Journal,” hit the stands in New York City in 1827. For nearly 200 years since, Black publishers, writers, photographers, and editors have spoken truth to power on issues of racism. They are different groups united by one mission: unapologetic, unabashed documentation of the Black experience. When Black citizens had no voice, the crusading Black Press shaped the foundations of landmark legislation on voting rights, desegregation, and the civil rights movement. The Black Press sought to unite, educate, inspire, and uplift a disenfranchised community. Today we celebrate the efforts of the extraordinary people who redefined journalism. Theirs is an enduring legacy that remains relevant, especially when news channels propagate singular narratives and notions of the ‘other.’

Legal Assistant Day

Legal Assistant Day, held annually on March 14, honors workers who conduct legal research and perform a variety of other tasks that enable law offices to operate. Legal assistants assist lawyers in many fields, including corporate law, criminal law, immigration, and litigation. Their responsibilities vary greatly depending on the type and size of the firm they work at. Legal Assistants do everything from investigating and gathering information about cases to drafting contracts, and other legal documents, as well as assisting lawyers with trial preparation and hearings. We think these diligent workers are deserving of some recognition.
