Emergency Medical Services for Children Day (EMSC)

Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Day is celebrated on the Wednesday of every annual Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, which occurs mid-May. This year, it will be celebrated on May 21. National EMS Week in the U.S. helps us recognize and appreciate the contributions of all emergency medical workers and service providers. We have tips on how you can get involved, spread awareness, and also celebrate these unsung heroes.

National Barber Mental Health Awareness Day

It’s a near certainty that when you sit down in your barber’s chair they’re going to ask you how you’re doing. National Barber Mental Health Awareness Day on May 19 was created to ensure that we’re remembering to return the question, to check in with our barbers as they so often check in on us. Barbers work intimately with multiple people every day, dealing with different energies and personalities all the time. It’s not uncommon for a customer to unload their personal struggles onto their barber and that can be a heavy burden to carry, especially if the barber is having a bad day themselves. National Barber Mental Health Awareness was created to help people realize that barbers take on a lot and to give them the opportunity to talk about their problems, too.

National Nail Polish Day

National Nail Polish Day on June 1 is an occasion that is a favorite of almost all women — at least the ones who love to add color to their hands. Initiated in 2017 by nail polish brand Essie, the day is all about cherishing nail polishes, and the hundreds of shades that are available to women across the nation. And yes, there are more hues of nail polish than you can imagine — well, there are enough to go with every outfit in your closet. The day, which was initially celebrated to honor everyone’s ‘love for Essie’, has now evolved into an event where numerous brands promote their products and offer special discounts. No wonder women love National Nail Polish Day!
