Southwest, West Michigan Communities Receive Federal Affordable Housing Funds

Several communities in southwest and west Michigan, including Battle Creek, Benton Harbor, Georgetown Township, Holland, Kalamazoo, and Portage, will receive nearly $4 million in federal Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) to build affordable housing. Kalamazoo will receive the largest share at over $1.6 million, while Battle Creek and Kalamazoo will also get additional funding through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program.
