What they’re saying
“This tournament was rained out last year, so that was disappointing. We always have some great teams and we want to celebrate Robert every chance that we get. He passed away 10 years ago this year. Really, it's hard to believe, but his spirit is still alive in our program and the community.”
— Jesse Macias, Alton High School Tennis Coach
“It was really hard the first few years. Robert and I coached together for seven years. When you work year-round, you spend a lot of quality time together. The kids loved having him around and it was like a family. He was a special coach and person. He's our guardian over our tennis community.”
— Jesse Macias, Alton High School Tennis Coach
What’s next
The Alton High School tennis team will host dual matches against Rockton and University High on Friday at 1 p.m. as a warm-up for the Robert Logan Doubles Invitational on Saturday.
