Midtown Alliance has unveiled the first comprehensive renderings and visuals for 'Midtown Green,' a new 4-acre centralized greenspace in the heart of Atlanta's Midtown neighborhood. The project, designed by global architecture firm Field Operations, is envisioned as a 'new cultural and civic destination' featuring an iconic pavilion, outdoor performance venue, public art installations, a restaurant and café, and numerous flexible spaces for gatherings and events.

Why it matters

The Midtown Green project represents a major investment in public space and community programming for the rapidly developing Midtown district. By creating an accessible, multifunctional greenspace, the project aims to establish a new civic landmark and cultural destination that will serve both residents and visitors, further enhancing Midtown's reputation as a vibrant, walkable urban neighborhood.

The details

The 4-acre Midtown Green site will feature an 'iconic' pavilion and outdoor performance venue with sweeping arches and curves inspired by the work of sculptor Alexander Calder. The pavilion will be flanked by a flexible amphitheater with terraced seating that can accommodate up to 800 attendees. The park will also include numerous public art installations, a restaurant and café, and various flex spaces for gatherings and events. Designers have taken the site's 70 feet of grade changes into account, incorporating overlooks, terraces, and 'arrival moments' to embrace views across the greenspace.

  • Midtown Alliance announced the park project in March 2025 and purchased the 4-acre site at 98 14th St. for $46 million in May 2025.
  • Field Operations was selected as the project designer in November 2025.
