On April 10, a state trooper initiated a traffic stop with 43-year-old Joshua Wilson of Sequim near the intersection of SR-104 and Rocktogo Road in Jefferson County. After seeing drug paraphernalia in Wilson's vehicle, the trooper asked if there were drugs present, to which Wilson admitted and then fled on foot into the highway. The trooper was able to apprehend Wilson and search his vehicle, where they found around 70 grams of suspected fentanyl, 49 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 1 gram of suspected cocaine, two digital scales, $1,800 in cash, and a 12-gauge shotgun with the serial number filed off. Further investigation also determined that some of the property in Wilson's vehicle was stolen.
