A gaming executive's dream of a transparent, crystalline home becomes a reality through innovative facade engineering and custom fabrication.Kirkland TodayA gaming executive in Kirkland, Washington commissioned a unique all-glass home design from Goble Berriman Design and Pulp Studio. The resulting 7,300 sq. ft. residence, dubbed F-House, features an entirely faceted glass exterior that shifts from mirror-like reflectivity to deep angular shadows depending on the light. The home's crystalline form stands in contrast to the natural landscape, creating a striking visual effect.
Why it matters
F-House represents an ambitious and technically complex exploration of glass architecture, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in residential design. The project demonstrates how cutting-edge facade engineering and custom fabrication can produce a home that reads more like a commercial-grade facade than a typical private residence.
The details
To fulfill the client's directive to "build a crystal house," the design team spent years developing the home's intricate, faceted glass exterior. Every surface is made of custom-cut angular glass panels assembled into a shattered, ice-like form. The steel structure is hidden, and even drainage details are concealed to maintain the illusion of a continuous glass skin. The thermal and privacy engineering required to make this fully glazed house livable was a major technical challenge, involving double silver-coated glass, solar-protected glass, low-emissivity coatings, and custom dot-pattern shading.
- F-House was designed over several years, with the client navigating the 3D model in VR goggles before construction began.
- The home was completed in 2026.

The takeaway
F-House represents a remarkable achievement in residential architecture, blending cutting-edge facade engineering, custom fabrication, and a bold conceptual vision to create a one-of-a-kind home that challenges the boundaries of what's possible in glass construction. The project demonstrates how innovative design and technical expertise can produce a structure that is both visually striking and functionally livable.
