Montana State's latest recruiting win highlights the program's ability to attract top talent from the Pacific Northwest.Kapowsin TodayMontana State University has received a commitment from 3-star wide receiver Kase Betz of Graham, Washington. Betz, who plays for Kapowsin High School, chose the Bobcats after visiting the campus and meeting with the coaching staff. He cited the distance from home, the school's football success, and the coaching staff as key factors in his decision.
Why it matters
This commitment is a significant addition to Montana State's 2027 recruiting class, as Betz is considered one of the top high school receivers in the state of Washington. The Bobcats have been working to build their in-state recruiting pipeline, and landing a talented player like Betz helps strengthen their position within the Big Sky Conference.
The details
Betz, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver, had a standout junior season in 2025, catching 76 passes for 1,221 yards and 12 touchdowns. Titus Vidlak
A quarterback commit in Montana State's 2027 recruiting class who Betz plans to take his official visit with in late May.
What they’re saying
“I chose MSU for a few reasons. First, the distance is good, so that my family can come out to my games, and I love Bozeman as well. Second, the coaches are amazing, and I love the school. Lastly, and obviously, the football is amazing, and I want to win football games and championships, and I believe that MSU is where I can do that.”
— Kase Betz, Committed Wide Receiver
“When I got the offer to MSU, it was from Coach Mix after a field workout. He was planning on offering me, and after the workout, he offered me. Coach Mix was awesome, and I was sad to see him leave, but Coach Price (new wide receivers coach James Price) is amazing. He's a super awesome coach, and he's very wise for his age, in my opinion. He's a very good man, and he wants to grow his guys to be great football players, but also great men, and we talk often.”
— Kase Betz, Committed Wide Receiver
What’s next
Betz plans to take his official visit to Montana State in late May, potentially alongside fellow 2027 commit Titus Vidlak. He has stated that he will not be visiting any other schools, as he is fully committed to the Bobcats program.
The takeaway
Montana State's addition of 3-star wide receiver Kase Betz is a significant recruiting win for the Bobcats, as they continue to build their in-state pipeline and bring top talent to Bozeman. Betz's commitment reinforces the program's ability to attract elite players from the Pacific Northwest region.
