The Snow League's arrival in Park City will bring world-class winter sports competition and inspire the next generation of local athletes.Park City TodaySnowboarding legend Shaun White announced that his new Snow League will host a stop at Park City Mountain from January 22-24, 2027, replacing the Sundance Film Festival's traditional late-January slot in the town. The three-day event will feature elite halfpipe competitions in snowboarding and freeskiing, as well as live music, fan experiences, and broader community programming. White said the league aims to create a clear path for youth athletes to progress from amateur to professional and Olympic competition.
Why it matters
The Snow League event represents an opportunity for Park City to maintain its status as a premier winter sports destination, even as the Sundance Film Festival departs. It will bring world-class competition, training infrastructure, and economic activity to the town, while also inspiring the next generation of local winter sports athletes.
The details
The Snow League stop will feature a custom-built 22-foot halfpipe, the first time such a feature has been installed at Park City Mountain since the 2019 FIS World Championships. League executives say the halfpipe will serve as a platform for training, progression, and competition, not just the event itself. U.S. Ski & Snowboard President and CEO Sophie Goldschmidt noted the importance of adding more high-quality halfpipe infrastructure in the U.S. to support national team athletes.
- The Snow League event will take place January 22-24, 2027.
