The Arts Council of Park City & Summit County has created the CREATE PC maker space, a 2,500-square-foot collaborative workspace that provides local artists new opportunities to create and connect. The space transforms the traditional solo studio into a vibrant ecosystem where artists from diverse backgrounds can work alongside peers, share resources, and drive cross-disciplinary exploration.
Why it matters
Shared creative spaces have a long history of fostering innovation and artistic growth, dating back to Renaissance-era workshops and 1950s artist-run cooperative galleries. By providing local artists an affordable, community-driven maker space, the CREATE PC initiative aims to bolster opportunities, lower costs, and cultivate the creative energy that comes from collaborative work.
The details
The CREATE PC maker space offers artists a month-to-month membership that includes access to the shared workspace, opportunities to showcase and sell their work, and a constantly evolving creative environment that can spark new ideas. The space can accommodate up to 10 local artists working in various visual art mediums.
