A celebratory motorcade of first responder vehicles escorts Medal of Honor recipients to their annual recognition event.Northlake TodayMore than 550 police cars, fire trucks, motorcycles, and other service vehicles representing over 40 agencies will travel through Denton County, Texas on Wednesday, April 15 to escort Medal of Honor recipients to the annual Medal of Honor Weekend event in Gainesville. The 9-mile-long motorcade will cause temporary road closures and heavy traffic as it makes its way from the south end of DFW Airport to Gainesville.

The motorcade will include vehicles from over 40 different agencies, including fire departments from Denton, Highland Village, Roanoke, Trophy Club, and Denton County ESD No. 1 and 2, as well as law enforcement from the county level and police departments in Northlake, Roanoke, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Argyle, Argyle ISD, and Denton. The procession will temporarily shut down parts of Highways 183, 360, 114, and 121, as well as access points along I-35W and I-35E.
- The motorcade will start its trek from the south end of DFW Airport sometime between 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15.
- Once the motorcade makes its way through, the roads will reopen to the public.
