Madrid earned the winning decision during Midland High's 9-2 victory over San Angelo Central in a District 2-6A baseball game on April 8. The left-handed pitcher held the Bobcats to two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings, striking out one. Baer had an impressive showing at the District 3-4A Track and Field Meet on April 9, collecting three gold medals and a bronze to lead the Rangerettes to a third-place team finish. She set a school record in the 300-meter hurdles and won the high jump.
