Tyler Reddick, driving the No. 45 Toyota for 23XI Racing, won the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, his fourth victory in the first six races of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season. Reddick overcame a faulty battery and a cool suit failure to chase down and pass Brad Keselowski's Ford in the final 50 laps, winning by over 5 seconds.
Why it matters
Reddick's dominant start to the season has established him as the early championship favorite, joining an elite group of drivers to win 4 of the first 6 races. The victory at the historic Darlington Raceway, known as the 'Lady in Black', further solidifies Reddick's status as one of the top talents in NASCAR.
The details
Reddick, who started on the pole, led the first 45 laps before a pit stop issue dropped him behind Keselowski. Keselowski led a race-high 142 laps, but Reddick was able to chase him down and pass for the lead with 48 laps remaining. Despite the battery and cool suit problems, Reddick was able to pull away for the victory, his 12th career Cup Series win.
- Reddick led the first 45 laps of the 90-lap Stage 1.
- Keselowski won Stage 1 ahead of a hard-charging Reddick.
- Reddick had to restart deeper in the field after a battery change and issues for other drivers.
- Keselowski and RFK Racing Fords took control with 160 laps remaining, but Reddick was able to catch and pass Keselowski with 48 laps left.
- Reddick took the checkered flag on Lap 293 of the 293-lap race.

What they’re saying
“I know never to give up. I think it's very fitting that when we finally get our first win here at Darlington that the 'Lady in Black' would test us like that.”
— Tyler Reddick
“I'm pretty sure it was frustrating for him because he had an unbelievable car. You never know what's going to happen, especially at Darlington. I think the key to him winning was keeping his head. I think (crew chief) Billy (Scott) did a good job of trying to keep him calm.”
— Michael Jordan, Team owner, 23XI Racing
What’s next
The next race on the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series schedule is the Goodyear 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on April 6.
